On Friday the 15th of November, Bloomsbury was delighted to welcome representatives from Mae Fah Luang University Chiang Rai. These visitors provided our Years 9, 10 and 11 students a presentation showing them the intriguing and exciting programs their University had to offer our students after they compete their studies at Bloomsbury.
Years 9 to 12 visited culturally enriched and ethical settings which gave an insight to the past of this part of Thailand and its future. Students visited Wat Phra Mahathat and got to see a Buddhist temple and a pagoda built many years ago and witnessed that it does not seem to have a shadow in the sunlight. Moving on to The National museum of Nakhon Si Thammarat to gain an insight of its history and how it has become the place it is today.
Thanks to the iWind team we then had a chance to find out more about the wind park found in Pak Phanang, how the wind turbines work, how energy is generated and how to make our very own paper windmill. The highlight of the trip involved getting to plant a tree to give something back to mother Earth.
