Whole school morning assembly on 4th June 2018

On Monday morning the whole school joined together in the convention hall for assembly. Students and teachers were welcomed into the room by a performance from the IGCSE Music group: Bea, Michael, Fang and Aaron. The song titled “Cake by the Ocean” is a pop song the class have been rehearsing recently in their music lesson. They have been building confidence playing in front of an audience as part of their IGCSE unit. The whole school were very impressed by the lead saxophone performance from Aaron and his accompanying band.

Mr Elliott and Mr Simpson awarded the ESE (English Speaking Environment) prize draw winners to: Lily (Y1), Angie (Y1) and ChaCha (Y2).

Student of the Month was also awarded for May 2018. For Primary, the winner was Hugo in Year 3 and for Secondary the winner was Pure in Year 10.

Mr Mullin then took the main part of the assembly where his message was for, everyone to think twice before making a judgement about a situation. He visually represented this by presenting Mrs Benson ( who had a birthday at the weekend) with 2 presents. One was a big box with gold wrapping paper and the other was a Big-C bag. The school had to decide which present Mrs Benson would get. They chose the gold box because it looked the prettiest.

When Mrs Benson opened it, it was just a packet of board pens. Hugo, who celebrates a birthday next week got given the Big-C bag which contained boxes of chocolates to share with his friends.
