There are three terms in an academic year. Assessment is continuous over each term. Assessment is a process of gathering and interpreting evidence to make judgments about student learning. Assessment identifies what students know, understand and can do at different stages in the learning process. It also identifies skills and knowledge which students are yet to master. Assessment helps teachers to plan, guide and implement learning.

At Bloomsbury International School teachers gather evidence through:

  • formative assessments of student learning which occurs throughout the year and may take the form of presentations, quizzes, role plays, short tests, written responses, essays, reports.
  • summative assessments of student learning (assessment of learning): end of unit or term tests and end of term examinations.

Reports will be issued three times a year at the end of the term.
