POPPY WELLS (B.Ed., MA) - Head of Learning Support / Year 1

My name is Poppy Wells and I am delighted to be joining the Bloomsbury community this year. I have lived in London – England my entire life, so this is a pretty massive (and exciting) change for me. My 8-year-old daughter, Rhia, will be joining Bloomsbury in September and she is just as excited for the new and interesting experiences Thailand has to offer. I have always been passionate about education and knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. This led to my BA in primary education at the University of Greenwich, where I was able to gain experience teaching in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 settings. In my first year teaching, I was awarded London’s Newly Qualified Teacher of the Year which was an incredible honour and means a great deal to me. I am currently in the final year of my MA in Special and Inclusive Education; I am incredibly proud to be finalising my studies remotely with UCL’s Institute of Education – number one in the world for education teaching and research. During my MA, I have learnt a wealth of information about how to support all types of learners within the classroom, but most importantly that every child deserves to be taught in a way that is individual to them and that supports their strengths and challenges. In my spare time, I enjoy eating out, going on adventures with my daughter, spending time with friends and family and when in London, I love trips to the theatre!

TABITHA RODRIGUEZ (BSEd) - Learning Support Staff

My name is Ms. Tabitha Melodias Rodriguez. I’m a Filipino and am currently working as a Learning Support Staff at Bloomsbury International School Hatyai. I have a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, majoring in General Science from Divine Mercy College, Philippines. I have worked with different learners for the past 8 years. I’ve been living in Thailand for more than 6 years and I used to be a Primary Science and Health teacher in a Thai government school. Being an educator for me is not just something that I am truly passionate about it is my first love. I enjoy talking with children and helping them to discover and develop their own abilities and skills and encouraging them to give their best in everything they do. In my free time, I enjoy reading, travelling, listening to music, doing different types of thrilling activities, singing and dancing. Working with young learners has taught me to be more patient, understanding, and to enjoy every minute of the learning process.
