Year 9 students have been working on a fun and creative project, painting their own skateboard decks. They started by learning how graphic design can show identity, using text (typography), symbols, and logos. Students looked at the work of skateboard artists and discussed how artists create their own style. They then designed their own skateboard, thinking about what represents them and their interests. After planning and practicing their ideas, students have begun painting their final designs onto the decks. This project has helped them build confidence, creativity, and painting skills, while expressing who they are through art.
