My name is Servet, and I’m from Turkey. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Dokuz Eylul University and a PGCSE from Ondokuz Mayıs University. With 12 years of teaching experience – including six years in CIS accredited international schools- I have taught a variety of maths curricula such as A-level, IGCSE,AP and IB. My teaching philosophy centers on holistic student growth. I believe in using visual, auditory and kinesthetic activities as well as roleplay to create engaging lessons. For me, emotions are the most crucial part of learning – students may forget what they learn eventually, but they will always remember how they felt while learning. I strive to support students at every level, helping them improve and grow regardless of their starting point. Outside the classroom, I am passionate about football (as a talentless player and a dedicated Galatasaray fan), history, science-fiction, chess, table tennis and of course; travelling. I also have the unique experience of serving my country as a diplomat for 3 years, working in different countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. This background has given me a global perspective and I hope to help my students on Model United Nation conferences. On the other hand I’m also interested in integrating technology into education and plan to establish a AI Maths Club at Bloomsbury where we will be creating math materials with our students using AI. I’m excited to join the Bloomsbury International School community, to meet its students with an amazing reputation and to experience Thai culture with my family.
