My name is Scarlett, I have recently moved to Thailand to pursue a new culture and life somewhere far away from my home in the United Kingdom. I grew up in Leicestershire before moving to a coastal town known as Blackpool where my passion gradually grew for the marine environment which led to me becoming a marine biologist. I have recently qualified as a science teacher, which enables me to incorporate the knowledge and education gained during my Bachelor’s degree. I find the oceans and all its wondrous creatures so magical and interesting – I am very passionate about looking after our planet and the importance of protecting our oceans. My teaching experience currently has been based in the north west of England (a place very windy and cold!), but I am looking forward to the new experience of living and working in Thailand with my daughter and learning what life is like here. It is my belief that everybody has capabilities within them and that it is our role as teachers to encourage, inspire and motivate learners to go on to do amazing things in life. I hope that through making my lessons exciting, interesting and linking them to global issues currently, that people within my class will feel excited and supported to learn and achieve their goals. I’m looking forward to being part of the school family and getting to know people in the local area – I am especially excited to make new friends and learn new ways of cooking. I hope I can impart my passion of science onto everyone at the school and look forward to a wonderful year of teaching at Bloomsbury.
