On Monday, 23 September, our Year 11 Global Perspectives students presented a powerful assembly about the local and global impacts of plastic pollution. They pointed out that only 6% of plastic is recycled and so the only solution is to reduce our consumption. We saw the evidence at the beach where we cleaned up all morning, removing bags and bags of discarded plastic.
We made the most of our time at the beach. Students created land art, sampled the plants growing on the shore and played beach sports. We finished off a wet and wild challenge when teams had to fill a bucket with sea water using leaky tools. Great fun for everyone!
Congratulations to Afiq, Farisya and Yen for organising a great day.
