Hello, My name is Shannon Heighway and I am excited to be joining Bloomsbury as the reception teacher this year. I was born and raised in Manchester, England but I have lived and worked in the US and New Zealand. I have a PGCE with QTS in Primary education and I have experience teaching from Pre-Nursery all the way up to Year 2. I have taught internationally for 4 years and I am very fortunate that I have been in Thailand for all of these years. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling to new places and countries as well as spending time with my cat. I also enjoy spending time in the gym and I am extremely grateful to have a partnership with one in Hat Yai. I believe that in order for children to fully engage and learn they need to feel happy and safe in their environment. As an Early Years teacher, I try my best everyday to make my children feel happy and safe in their classroom at school.
